Wonder In His Presence

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?

1 Corinthians 3:16 NIV

The Tabernacle of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church exists to create space to invite and encounter the Living God, who gave All in order to dwell with us.

On special Saturday evenings, we gather as a community at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Cochrane, Alberta to honor our Lord Jesus Christ as King of Kings and Lord of Lords and to fix our eyes on the Author and Finisher of our faith.

We open our doors to everyone to celebrate and honour Him.

We will occasionally have guest speakers come and share.

ENCOUNTER

Ezekiel 1:28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.

Hebrews 9 explains how we were separated from the Living God by the veil that kept us from the Holy of Holies where the Presence of God dwelt. Through Jesus' perfect sacrifice on the cross, our sins were paid for once and for all and the veil that kept us from entering the Presence of The Most High was torn in two from top to bottom.

When we turn from our self-reliance to Christ-reliance and receive His gift of salvation and righteousness, we, too, can enter His Presence and abide with Him!

Communion

Hebrews 9:14 "Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins." (NLT)

We choose to remember Jesus’ broken body and shed blood around the communion table. The blood of Christ purifies our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God and we come expectantly to receive the healing of body, soul, and spirit purchased for us by Jesus’ broken body

Prayer

Hebrews 4:14 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (KJV)

We believe in the power of prayer because we serve a Risen Saviour! We create space to invite Jesus into our darkness. And so,  we simply come,  to worship and encounter the Living God who gave All to abide with us because of His great love. Will you join us?

People of the Promise

Genesis 9:12-16 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
