About Our Events

wonder in his presence

The Tabernacle, hosted by St. Peter’s Lutheran church, demonstrates our commitment to come together as one body of believers regardless of denomination, tradition, or style of worship, to host the Presence of God’s Glory through praise and worship, scripture reading, communion, and prayer.

On special Saturday evenings, we gather at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Cochrane, Alberta to rejoice in our faith and wonder in His Presence.

Why the Tabernacle?

The word tabernacle means ‘dwelling place’ and in Old Testament Scriptures, it referred to the tent where God came to dwell among His chosen people, the Israelites. The dwelling itself was designed to house the Presence of God’s Glory.

Where is the Tabernacle today? The amazing truth is that now when we pass through and possess for ourselves, the perfect sacrifice of Jesus for our own sins, we too, can enter into His Presence. Not only that, but when we invite Him to be Lord of our lives, we become the earthly tent housing that same Presence of God’s Glory. We hunger for more!

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?” 1 Corinthians 3:16 NIV

why unity?

The last recorded prayer of Jesus in John 17 reveals Jesus heart and purpose for unilty.

20 “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. 21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.” (NLT)

John 17 goes on to say, 22 “I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. 23 I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.”

Unity is foundational for fulfillment of the Great Commission!
